Behind the Scenes

We've always believed that great photography and great filmmaking share the same foundation: light, composition, and a story worth telling. Over the past year, we've expanded our work into cinematic video — short films, brand stories, and session highlight reels that give our clients something more than a still frame.

This video walks through one of our recent projects from start to finish.

Why Video Matters for Modern Brands

The demand for video content has grown significantly. Clients who used to need only headshots and brand photography are now asking for 30-second social clips, 90-second brand films, and full session recap videos. The platforms changed, and we changed with them.

Video lets us show what a still image can only imply — the way someone moves through a space, the cadence of their voice, the energy of a team working together. For brands especially, this kind of content builds trust in ways that a photo grid alone cannot.

Our Process

Every video project starts the same way our photography sessions do: with a conversation. We want to understand the context before we pick up the camera.

From there, the process follows a predictable rhythm. We scout the location, plan the shot list, block out time for setup and transitions, and shoot with intention. We're not running and gunning — we're building each frame deliberately, the same way we approach a portrait sitting.

Post-production is where the footage becomes a story. Color grading, sound design, pacing — these are the editorial decisions that turn raw clips into something cohesive.

What We've Learned

The biggest lesson from our first year of video work: slow down. Video rewards patience even more than photography does. The best moments on camera are almost always the ones that happen after the subject forgets the camera is there.

Looking Ahead

We're continuing to invest in our video capabilities — new gear, new techniques, new ways to tell the stories our clients care about. If you've been thinking about adding video to your brand toolkit, we'd love to talk about what that could look like.
